about Ty
Born and raised in Houston, TX, Ty Lewis is an independent performing artist, choreographer, teacher, observer and movement advocate. Her interest in movement came at a young age, with her willingness to perform for her family and friends without hesitation. Ty’s professional practice began in college, where she studied dance at San Jacinto College and Sam Houston State University, graduating and receiving her A.A as well as her B.F.A in dance. Since completing undergrad, Ty has created, presented, and performed works nationally as well as internationally, striving to share her love for movement and performance through her choreography and teaching. She hopes of influencing movement as a source of expression, creativity, kinesthetic intelligence, and healing through physical practice.
